Manar Moursi

I am currently working on a project titled The One and the Multiple. The project examines the the particularity of the new forms of
contemporary minaret and mosque building in Egypt especially in the outskirts of Cairo. It highlights the material significance of the new
minarets as a micro-political symbols and as tender, vital, pressure points that act as meridians to unravel tensions between the state and
religion. It will look at how boundaries are marked through acts of building and how architecture acts as sign.
