The starting point for Everywhere I go, Here I am is a soundtrack which consists of my voice, reading an edited version of the novel Autoportrait by Edouard Leve.
In Autoportrait, Leve strings together a list of banal facts and memories about himself. In my video, the voiceover track is overlaid with amateur images from my
personal archive, family albums, and postcards.
Together with the audio, the images construct a representation of what home means to me - it is the clothes I stand in, a series of memories, a change of countries
and languages – feeling at home nowhere but at ease almost everywhere.
